The AL NAJJAR family has been making authentic Aleppo soap since 1895, using traditional craftsmanship. Aleppo soap was the first hard soap to be made for centuries, and is the ancestor of Marseille soap. This know-how has been passed down from generation to generation in the family soap factory.
Every year, from the end of November to the end of March, the world's first hard soap is made according to an unchanging process. The soaps then dry for a minimum of nine months. During this period, the surface of the soap oxidises and takes on a yellow/brown colour, while the core retains the green colour of the oils of which it is made.
Najel Aleppo soap is made exclusively from olive oil and bay laurel oil, two noble oils that give it many virtues. Saponified olive oil is a powerful cleanser that nourishes, protects and softens the skin. Bay laurel oil is renowned for its disinfectant and regenerative properties. The higher its concentration, the more soothing the soap is for irritated skin or skin with problems (psoriasis, eczema, acne, dermatitis).
